We have all been asked the question by our parents and teachers, "What do you want to be when you grow up?" I remember that I would always reply with certainty "PROFESSIONAL ATHLETE!" I wanted to make the BIG BUCK$ and live in a HUGE MANSION! In the back of my mind though, I always knew that I had the heart of a teacher! Like most of you I had more than one dream job...
Although I never came close to my dream of becoming a professional athlete, could you imagine having the choice between your dreams? Would you be able to give up one dream for another? OR... Would you feel like one of your dreams was being stolen from you?
Myron Rolle lived through this choice. He was an amazing football player at Florida State University with a brilliant mind! While playing football he also studied to be a neurosurgeon (someone who studies and operates on the brain)! After his senior year, Rolle was given a Rhodes Scholarship! He had to make a choice... follow his dream of becoming a NFL football player or study at Oxford for a year!
What would you do? Would you be able to give up one dream for another?
